TRAVEL RESOURCES
When you travel a lot, you spend countless hours searching the internet for the best deals. I’ve done my share of searching, and this page is a resource for you to use some of my preferred sites when booking travel. From hotels, to car rental and more.
Below is a list of tools, apps and websites that help us save money. This will be updated as and and when I come across better options, I’ve included discount links I’ve been able to source for you.
Flights
Our current picks for finding the best deals on flights are:
1. Expedia
Expedia.com are one of the best booking site on the internet when it comes to booking flights. You can save also save money bundling your flights and accommodation together.
2. Skyscanner
Is one of the best for finding flights. I especially like their ‘Everywhere’ search option. If you want some inspiration, put in your departure point, and type ‘Everywhere’ in your arrival destination box, they will give you a list of places to fly to starting with the cheapest.
4. Google Flights
Google also operates a flight search tool. I often use this as my first step to get a rough idea of a flight cost as its a quick option from Google search. It’s a really handy tool for searching for different routes and dates, and finding when the best time to fly will be based on the price fluctuations by the day.
Car Rental
If you plan to do some exploring when you arrive at your destination, often a car is the best way for you to get around, especially outside of major cities. Here are a couple of good options for booking your car.
Note that pickups from the airport are nearly always going to be more expensive than from a downtown location.
Expedia
One of the best know travel booking companies in the world, Expedia.com don’t just cover flights and accommodation. Take a look at their car rental options with competitive pricing.
Accommodation
I spend a lot of time traveling and have tried many places to book accommodation, below are some of my favourites:
1. Expedia.com
Expedia.com have an incredible selection of hotels across the world, and usually offer good rates. As with flights, they’re one of the go-to spots for comparing options.
2. Hotels.com
One of our favourite tools for finding good deals on hotels is Hotels.com. They also offer a lot of other travel options.
3. TripAdvisor
Most people know TripAdvisor a popular review site, but you can search for accommodation directly through TripAdvisor too.
4. AirBnB
When I travel, if I’m staying somewhere for a more than just a few days I like to book an apartment, AirBnB is my choice for apartment rentals. If you’re staying somewhere for more than a few days and you want to save some money by not eating out every meal, i’d highly recommend AirBnB.
